I’m Kirsty, founder of Thrive Together Aberdeen CIC. I started Thrive Together because I saw how many adults with additional support needs were isolated, overlooked, or lacking meaningful opportunities once they left school. I knew there had to be more than just “filling time” — there had to be purpose, community, and belonging.
Our team is small but passionate. We create structured, person-centred sessions focused on life skills, work skills, confidence building and social connection. Whether it’s cooking, woodworking, cycling, volunteering, or simply learning to travel safely in the community, everything we do is designed to build independence and self-worth.
Our vision is simple: a community where adults with additional needs are visible, valued, and included — not just accommodated.
The money we raise will go directly towards community trips, activities, and equipment that make real experiences possible. That means hiring accessible transport, covering venue costs, buying sports equipment, funding activity materials, and ensuring no one misses out due to financial barriers.
