Aim

Helping Python Seniors compete in the Hanover Basketball League Over 35s division. Entry fees, kits, and game day costs. Every pound counts!

Who are we?

Python Basketball Club is a community-driven basketball club based in Stevenage. Our flagship team, the SFBC Pythons, won the championship in Season 2 and are currently defending the title in Season 3 with a 3-0 record.

Now we're expanding. Python Seniors is our new Over 35s squad entering the Hanover Basketball League in August 2026. Same club, same culture, same hunge, just with a bit more experience on the court.

Why are we crowdfunding?

 The Wildcats have held the HBL trophy for three consecutive seasons. We're here to change that.

  Python Seniors is a squad of 17 experienced players ready to compete, but entering a new league comes with real costs — entry fees, uniforms, game day fees, and travel. We've self-funded what we can, but to give this campaign the best chance of success, we need the community behind us.

We've already proven we can build a winning team from nothing. In the SFBC, nobody gave us a chance, we won the championship. Now we're bringing that same mentality to HBL.

How we’ll spend the money raised

  We believe in full transparency. Here's exactly where your money goes:

  - League entrance fee — £200

  - Uniforms (18 jerseys x £26) — £468

  - Game day fees (TBC — £55/game) — £440+ (assuming ~8 games)

  - Equipment & misc — £100

  - Total: ~£1,200

Every penny goes directly to getting the team on the court. No admin fees, no overheads. Sponsors receive monthly financial reports showing exactly how funds are used.

Community impact

Python Basketball Club isn't just about winning — it's about building something that lasts. Our club:

  - Provides competitive basketball for players who age out of other leagues

  - Brings together a diverse community of players across Stevenage

  - Runs entirely on volunteer effort — no paid staff, no corporate backing

  - Promotes health, fitness, and camaraderie for the over 35s

  - Plans to expand further with Junior Pythons and Baby Pythons programmes in the future
