No food wasted, no one left hungry. Help us keep rescuing good food and delivering hope — we urgently need a new van to continue this work
Who we are
A community safe place offering hope, dignity and a future — supporting people who need it most to rebuild wellbeing and regain stability
Erika the CEO of this amazing charity, "I feel truly blessed to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team"
This year marks our 10-year anniversary, and over the decade, we have grown from a small room, open just one day a week, into a vibrant social community hub — a safe space where people gain the knowledge and support they need to manage their finances, access essential resources, and improve their wellbeing. Our members only supermarket is now open 6 day's a week!
Our staff team works tirelessly to support our 29 volunteers, who give their time generously while often managing challenges of their own. Together, they inspire us every day.
Poole Waste Not Want Not is a social supermarket and community coffee shop - A safe, welcoming community space at the heart of Poole.
Last year alone, we supported 3,982 people across 688 households, including over 1,033 adults and 557 children, helping families who would otherwise struggle to afford food, clothing, and warmth.
A vital part of this work is our food collection. In the past year, we collected and redistributed 56 tonnes of surplus food, preventing it from going to landfill and turning waste into vital support. Our dedicated of volunteers rely on our van every day to collect food from local supermarkets and suppliers in all weather.
Our vision is simple: no good food wasted and no one in our community going hungry.
We are raising funds for a new, reliable van to protect and expand this lifeline. Our current vehicle is ageing and increasingly unreliable, putting collections and food supply at risk. A new van will ensure we can continue rescuing tonnes of food each year, reduce environmental impact, and reach even more families in need.
Funds raised will go directly towards purchasing the van, insurance, and essential setup costs. This investment safeguards both our environmental mission and our ability to keep affordable food moving to those who need it most
no one should go hungry in 2026.
Our team’s words say it best:
Martin: “I love this place. You gave me a chance when no one else would. After 10 years unemployed, you believed in me.”
Marcus: “I came from the Job Centre to gain confidence. Everyone is so friendly — I feel a part of something now.”
Dan: “You didn’t judge me when I told you I’d been in prison. That was four years ago — I can’t thank you enough. You opened the door and gave me me back.”
Leanne: “The best part of my job is helping others find solutions to their problems and seeing relief and smiles on their faces.”
I am proud to lead this special team. Every day, their dedication and compassion help transform lives, build confidence, and create a community where no one faces hardship alone.
“Poole Waste Not Want Not has been a lifeline for my family. When my hours were cut, I didn’t know how we would manage. The affordable food and friendly faces made such a difference. It’s more than a shop — it’s a safe place where you’re treated with dignity. I don’t know what we would do without their support.”
