Purchase of Ripley Town Hall

Aim

We wish to purchase Ripley Town Hall (the Hotel de Ville) from the Ripley Castle Estate.

February 2025 update:

The club has now become a Community Benefit Society and is registered with the FCA under number 9396. The building has also been approved as a Community Asset by North Yorkshire Council. Negotiations are still underway for a community purchase and we will advise all donors of progress as soon as possible. In the meantime any queries to [email protected].

Our hall has been in constant use by the community since it was built in 1854. It is grade 11 listed. Now we have the chance for the building to be owned by the community it serves and to ensure it's future going forward.

It is used regularly by over 20 community groups and is the home of Ripley Star Club - see ripleystarclub.com. It is also used by the local primary school for dinners, PE and school productions.

Over the last 25 years it has become an important venue for live music - ripleylive.com. The hall now attracts musicians internationally and we have hosted both established and up and coming artists - ripleylive.com

We are applying for grant assistance towards the purchase but need to raise £50,000 towards the venture with all donations of £10.00 or more much appreciated. For those able to give £1,000 we offer lifetime membership of the Star Club and for £5,000 lifetime membership plus free access to our concerts for five years.
