Provide young people in Purbeck with a safe meeting place, activities to try, experiences to share and confidential advice and support.
This project aims to widen young peoples experiences, challenge their perceptions and help them address personal issues at a sometimes difficult and stressful stage of their life.
Donations from crowdfunding will help the Purbeck Youth & Community Foundation to introduce the following and so build on our work at Wareham Youth Centre over the past five months:
The Foundation is a charity set up in 2016 by local volunteers to secure the future of Wareham Youth Centre for the young people of Purbeck. We are totally self-funded and local, regional and national organisations have donated financial support that has enabled us in the short term to provide club activities for young people in Purbeck.

Since last September nearly 400 young people have been attending one or more of our age-related lunchtime and evening sessions and a number of organisations are using the Centre for education and recreation activities. Our part-time youth worker also supports Bovington, Corfe Castle and Wool youth clubs and young people from these communities - plus Swanage - make use of Wareham Youth Centre during their lunch breaks at the adjacent Purbeck School.

Our fund-raising team is looking continually for new opportunities to secure new income, not only to maintain our normal service but also to provide new furniture, equipment and decorations. The Centre is a valuable community asset and we promote and encourage wider use of our facilities by local residents and businesses.
