In January this year I released my first album of songs, Endless Joy. Recording this collection of songs benefitted from a crowdfunder campaign to gather support for the project. It was amazing and humbling to receive such positive, affirming support from so many.
For me however, Endless Joy was always going to be the start of a journey of recording and publishing songs. I am now embarking on another album project, all themed on the Psalms.
Over the last two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, I found particular comfort, solace, perspective and inspiration from songwriting using the psalms. At the same time, in my church community we discovered the fruitfulness of spending time frequently reading psalms together.
The psalms are songs and poems, written by different people over the centuries, expressing the full spectrum of human emotion in relation to God and the world around us. They are a rich resource for celebrating and worshiping God’s goodness, majesty and creativity, for validating our feelings of lament and despair at the brokenness of our world to find hope and joy in all times.
During the Covid-19 lockdowns these psalms helped lift my head from our isolation, fears and confusion to trust God afresh, to worship him for all He has and will continue to do. They also give a helpful perspective on the human condition in relation to God, the everlasting and forever One, who is neither fazed nor surprised by global pandemics. He outlasts them all.
Several songs emerged through this time as I tried to put some of the psalms to music. I am now wanting to get them recorded and published, so that they may be a source of comfort, help and joy for you too.

This project is going to require at least £5,000. I need to crowdfund in order to get lift-off for recording as many songs as possible, aiming to get around 10 songs recorded.
The crowdfunder will run for the whole month of November 2022.
