Aim

Foodprint is a social supermarket where anyone who is struggling can get food at prices much lower than that of mainstream supermarkets.

We are Foodprint, a multi award-winning social enterprise, that run two social supermarkets in Sneinton and Radford, two deprived wards of Nottingham. Our stores, are run by our store managers Nadeem and Ahmed with the help of volunteers. Foodprint was established in 2017 by the University of Nottingham and now is a subsidiary of Himmah Charity. Himmah has been at the heart of Nottingham City for the last 10 years, tackling inequalities in poverty, race and education.

Poverty and food waste is an in justice, and we are proud to be addressing both head on. Therefore, with one hand we will prevent waste and with the other we will ensure everyone has access to fresh fruit and vegetables. We do this by intercepting surplus food from supermarkets and other food providers that is going towards landfill, and making this food available to our customers.

Between then and now, we have seen great progression in our pursuit to reduce food waste from going to landfill, in addition to  providing affordable food to our community. We now serve over 400 customers a week between our two stores.

We are looking to raise £6,000 (£2,000 from donations and £4,000 from matchfunding). This money would allow us to refurbish our Radford store, and install new fridges and freezers.
