Prostate Cancer kills more than 12,000 men every year and we need your help to save men’s lives.

Tom's Story
72 year-old grandfather and retired teacher, Darlington resident Tom Seaver heard about Darlington Lions Prostate Health Testing Event in March 2024, quite by chance, during a game of cards. Although he had no symptoms he decided to book a test.
“It was a good job I did because when I received the results I was advised to see my GP urgently,” says Tom. After a full range of tests, cancer was confirmed, but it was contained in the prostate, so Tom decided to have his prostate removed last September.
He continues: “I look back now and think that game of cards probably saved my life!
I had no symptoms whatsoever, so I wouldn’t have known anything about it if I hadn’t gone for the test. It would have got worse and could have been too late. What Darlington Lions Club is doing is excellent, and I can't thank them enough.”
