Aim

With this short film we're trying to criticise the propaganda news cycle of many countries that are politically become more radical.

My name is Hidde Klijnstra, I moved to London from the Netherlands to pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I'm now studying at metfilm school in London and am graduating soon. I've come in contact with many talented individuals which I'm working closely on this project with. The producer is my best friend Charlie who I've worked with on many projects.

Together we created for one of our school assignments a story of a university newspaper that gets turned into a cult as they start spreaking misinformation, radicalising the students of the school.

Hyde W. Watson is a writer for his university newspaper, but once he gets offended by having his articles censored, he starts his own newspaper called: "The Prophet's Paper". Him and his best friend try to spread the paper, but after finding out people don't care about his paper, he starts spreading fake news about the international students. Creating an enemy that the local students start to hate. They start adoring Hyde as a cult leader. Hyde doesn't like this and sets out to put a stop to the monster he's created, to stop The Prophet's Paper.

It's an analogy for US politics and we feel strongly about this short film because we want to be able to criticise the state of the world right now. We believe it's important for us as filmmakers to make art with a point, to make people more aware of social issues and this is why we need your help! We want to make a clear stance on our feelings towards US politics and be able to mock it.

For this short film we need 3000 pounds to pay our actors, locations, catering and transport. All of this is essential to bringing our story to life. We want to put it in festivals and potentially use it as proof of concept for a possible series.

We need your help to do so though, as without your support this project won't be possible. Any support is appreciated, thank you so much for reading!
