Aim

Turning rescued textiles into a mobile sewing studio dream — crafting freedom, sustainability & healing through #ProjectVanLife ✂️🚐

#ProjectVanLife began as a dream of freedom, but it’s become something much deeper than that.

For a long time, life has felt like trying to fit into systems and working environments that simply weren’t built for me. Living with disability, chronic pain, and mental health struggles has meant that traditional work often comes at the cost of my wellbeing. Sewing and creating became the one place where my mind could quieten, where I could process life, and where I could turn difficult experiences into something meaningful with my hands.

Through  The Knotty Crafter, I rescue unwanted fabrics, donated textiles, and forgotten materials, transforming them into handmade gifts and accessories with a new purpose. In many ways, that mirrors my own journey — taking things that feel worn down or overlooked and turning them into something beautiful, useful, and full of life again.

#ProjectVanLife is my chance to build a future that works with my health instead of against it. The dream is to convert a van into a small mobile sewing studio and creative space where I can safely work, travel, attend markets, create content, and continue building a sustainable business without sacrificing my wellbeing in the process.

This van would mean:

  • Freedom to work flexibly around my health
  • A safe creative space that moves with me
  • The ability to continue growing an eco-conscious business
  • More opportunities to attend markets and connect with people
  • A step towards independence and stability
  • A life built around creativity, sustainability, and healing

This project isn’t about luxury or escaping life. It’s about creating a life I can actually live. One where creativity becomes survival, sustainability becomes purpose, and every handmade item carries a story of resilience, hope, and rebuilding.

Every donation, share, purchase, or word of encouragement helps move me closer to that future. Supporting #ProjectVanLife means supporting a small dream stitched together through persistence, creativity, and the belief that even difficult beginnings can still lead somewhere beautiful.
