Aim

I’m running 100 marathons in 100 days across India to raise £1M for people and the planet. This Crowdfunder makes the expedition possible.

Please note this Crowdfunder is for Expedition Costs. If you want to donate to our Charity Partners, please go to the Givestar Page

What is Project Salt Run?

In October 2025, Hannah set out to run 100 marathons in 100 days across India.

The route? A 4,200 km route retracing an Old Colonial Inland Customs Line, a colonial barrier built to enforce a brutal salt tax. A living scar made from thorny hedge that once divided communities and profited from suffering.

This run is about rewriting that story. Taking a symbol of exploitation and turning it into a journey of connection, courage and collective action.

Hannah only started running in 2024. She is not a professional athlete. She’s someone who believes ordinary people can step up, show up, and spark change, one footstep at a time.

With your support, we are raising funds on Givestar for four amazing charities doing good for people and the planet, 1% for the Planet, Big Change, Frank Water and Client Earth, while bringing global attention back to the Great Hedge and the bigger question behind it:

What would the world look like if modern businesses powered good, instead of repeating the attitudes of the East India Company?

Why We’re Crowdfunding

Project Salt Run is a grassroots mission. No major sponsors. No big production houses. Just a tiny crew, one runner, a rusty van named Moxy (after Roy Moxham, author of The Great Hedge of India), and a belief that this story matters.

We sleep full-time in Moxy.
We eat on a tight food budget.
We film, edit, manage logistics, navigate, and support the run with a three-person crew doing the work of ten.

Your support keeps us moving. Literally.

Crowdfunding lets us cover the essentials:

  • 12 Months project planning the Expedition
  • Logistics for 100 consecutive marathons
  • Safety, nutrition and medical support
  • Daily content and on-the-ground storytelling
  • Fuel, tolls, kit, and repairs to keep Moxy alive
  • Fair pay for the small crew making this mission possible

This isn’t a luxury expedition. It’s a tough, real, human challenge, powered by an even tougher budget.

Why the Stretch Goal Matters

Reaching the stretch goal gives us the breathing room to finish the mission safely and sustainably.
Right now, everything is bare-bones: cold meals, minimal supplies, and long days doing every job ourselves. A slightly healthier budget means:

  • The team gets hot food, not just cold rice
  • We can stay safe and functioning over the next months
  • Hannah gets the support she needs to keep moving
  • And we can capture this story properly, not just survive it

It also gives us the ability to film a full documentary that shines a global light on the Great Hedge, a chapter of history almost erased, and on the charities at the heart of this mission.

Anything we raise that isn’t used on the expedition goes directly into the charity pot. No waste. No padding. Full transparency.

As the project is a Campaign started by the Better Business Network, we have to pay 20% VAT on all donations, so if you're comfortable and want to make the biggest possible impact, get in touch about supporting us directly via [email protected]

Our Commitment

Everything you see, the route mapping, the daily updates, the podcasts, the planning, the logistics, the training, the four months on the road, is powered by a team working at their absolute limit.

Hannah’s time is fully volunteered and she does not get paid a penny.

We’re doing this because we believe in it.

We’re here to show what can happen when people decide to run toward a better future, not away from a difficult past.

Where Your Donation Goes

Your support covers:

  • On-the-ground logistics and navigation
  • Staff & Crew Costs
  • Fuel, tolls, kit, repairs and essential van costs
  • Daily filming and storytelling
  • Documentary production
  • Safety, nutrition and basic crew support
  • Everything needed to bring 100 marathons in 100 days to life

Every contribution, big or small, keeps the wheels turning, the cameras rolling and the miles flowing beneath Hannah’s feet.

We will make this happen, that much we’re certain of. Now we’re looking for the people who believe in us too.

This run is just the beginning.
With your help, it becomes a movement.
A message.
A legacy of climate action, community, and courage.

Let’s run for something bigger.
