I am so proud to be selected to be part of Team GB for the Paralympic Games in Rio, all donations will help support me at this level, thanks

I am so proud to be selected to be part of Team GB for the Paralympic Games in Rio, this has been a long road to get to this point and I'm sure there will be many more twists and turns as we go along this journey.

I began swimming at the age of 4 at Holmfirth pool, worked my way through the lessons until I started to compete at the age of 9.  This led to me joining the Borough of Kirklees Swimming Club based in Huddersfield, the programme works in partnership with Kirklees Active Leisure who have supported me up to this level.

I am a registered disabled athlete and have the condition "Charcot Marie Tooth" which is a muscle wasting disease, which results in having weak feet, legs, arms, hands and sometimes I have numbness through my body.

Even with all that the condition brings, I am determined to represent my country not just at these games but other major events including Tokyo 2020.

To achieve this I have Physiotherapy once a week, the funding would help me to work with my Physio and Strength and Conditioning services several times a week, to limit injuries and be able to compete at the highest level possible.
