Aim

Help me reach my goal of co-fundraising for "Project Paradiso", an industry-quality short film in Sicily that I'll be Co-Directing!

Hi, I'm Eleanor! One thing you should know about me: there's nothing I love more than telling stories. 

I am a 17-year-old actress and filmmaker from the US and UK, currently based in Seoul, South Korea. I have lived internationally for my entire life and have been performing in amateur plays since I was three years old. I started working professionally as an actor at 12 when my family moved to South Korea and have been working in the Korean entertainment industry ever since. In the last few years, I have wanted to have more creative control over the projects I work on. This led me to start telling my own stories through writing and directing film projects. 

When I first attended Young Film Academy's (YFA) filmmaking summer program a few years ago, I was not prepared for the impact it would make on my film directing career. For the first time in my life, I was fully surrounded by kids my age who were just as passionate about story-telling as I was - I truly felt like I belonged. Needless to say, I've been back at Young Film Academy every year since, making cool films with other passionate, talented, and caring young filmmakers and actors. 

This year, I was selected out of hundreds of other students to join a team of YFA’s most promising students aged 16-20 to create a stunning short film in Sicily, Italy. Better yet, I was selected to co-direct with two other students! 

I was beyond thrilled to be selected as I knew I would have the privilege to work with extremely talented young filmmakers and be a part of telling an important story. This project is also important to me as it will be a large step up in my directing career; I'll be leading a large team of students on a high-budget, professional set and it will be an opportunity to grow my reputation as a young filmmaker internationally at various film festivals and screenings.
