Any additional money raised will go towards an outdoor classroom for the infant site...
Our aim is to provide the children at Long Lane site, with purpose built play equipment and to make the play field suitable.
Friends of Charlesworth School plays a vital role in funding and supporting additional learning experiences for the children such as: extra materials; class trips; sports activities; and school events. We are thankful to have the amazing support of children's family, teachers and the local community at fundraising events throughout the years, such as: school discos, quiz nights, Pantos, fashion shows and our Christmas Fair.

As a small village school funds are extremely limited. Charlesworth Primary is a thriving rural school that makes up an important part of its local community. FOCS are incredibly grateful to have received enough community support last year and managed to raise a whopping £19,000 to improve the Town Lane site in the first phase of Project Playgrounds. 2019/20 was going to be another fun filled year with everyone coming together to help raising money for the second phase at the Long Lane site.
Then Covid-19 happened... It has had a huge impact on our school and the fundraising events we had planned have had to be postponed or cancelled. Sadly this means that our project may have to be put on hold if we can not raise the additional funds. As a result Friends of Charlesworth School have invited Charlesworth school community to complete a collectively 500 mile challenge, as lockdown is slowly starting to ease and we can spend more time in the glorious outdoors the children of Charlesworth School and their families are getting their walking boots on and helping to raise funds for project playground along the way.
Children can also scoot, cycle or run as part of the challenge.

One big push could see our project through to completion. With your support we can get one step closer to achieving our goal of purpose built play equipment and making the playing field suitable, enriching the children's outdoor experience.
