Aim: Help us transform Old Rishworthian RUFC into a modern, inclusive hub - 400+ members, 11 teams, and a growing community need your support!
Old Rishworthian RUFC is more than just a rugby club—we're a vibrant community hub that’s been at the heart of local life for 95 years. Home to over 400 members, including 11 rugby age groups, netball teams, and archery clubs, we welcome people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. Whether you're a player, parent, volunteer, or supporter, you’ll always find a warm welcome here.
We’re launching Project Game Changer—a once-in-a-generation redevelopment to create modern, inclusive, and fully accessible facilities. Our current setup is outdated and overcrowded, with 75 players sharing one shower room, and cold, leaky portacabins that limit our ability to grow—especially for women and girls.
We’ve already raised £109,000, but we need your help to secure the remaining £291,000 by September 2026. With your support, we’ll ensure every player has a dignified space to change, train, and feel like they belong—regardless of age, gender, or ability.
The money raised will go directly towards:
Your support will help us provide a space that meets the needs of our club today—and for generations to come.
Our club is a key part of the local community, bringing together people from all walks of life. We don’t just develop athletes—we nurture confidence, connection, and community spirit. Beyond sport, our facilities are used for school sessions, youth activities, community gatherings, and more.
This redevelopment will unlock even more potential—creating a welcoming, accessible space where everyone feels they belong, whether they're on the field, cheering from the sidelines, or just dropping in for a cuppa and a chat.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
