Sport England - Extra Funder!

We’re excited to announce that our campaign is being supported by Sport England as an additional funder. If we reach £9,500, they will match it — meaning every donation goes twice as far!

Who are we?

We’re Checkers Gymnastics – a 40+ year old club with a passionate, dedicated family of gymnasts, coaches, and supporters who live and breathe gymnastics. Our team works hard every day to push our limits, perfect our skills, and inspire the next generation of gymnasts in our community.

But to keep reaching new heights, we need the right equipment to help us train safely and perform at our best. That’s why we’re launching this campaign to bring a brand-new Skakun World Championship Ready Tumble Track to our gym!

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our current tumble track has served us well, but it’s worn out and no longer meets the needs of our growing club. The Skakun tumble track is state-of-the-art, designed for elite-level training, and will help our athletes flip higher, land safer, and compete stronger.

For our most Elite tumblers, our current track holds them back, this new state of the art track will enable them to train at their levels and possibly look to move onto higher levels of tumbling in the future.

As a community club, we don’t have access to the same funding as big professional gyms. Crowdfunding gives us the chance to come together with friends, families, and local supporters to make this dream a reality!

Our sport is a safe sport however to keep that as our number one priority we need this new track. We will also be able to look at restarting our adults weekly session to enable parents and other adults in our community to participate in our sport. It is a fully inclusive sport with no boundaries.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Every pound you give will go directly toward:

• Purchasing the Skakun tumble track – built to world championship standards.
• Safe installation to ensure the track is ready for years of training and competitions.
• Upgrading safety equipment around the track to protect our athletes.

The more we raise, the more we can invest in programs for young gymnasts, giving them access to top-level training in a safe, inspiring environment.

Community impact

This isn’t just about our team – it’s about our whole community.

• Young gymnasts (as young as 2years old) will train on world-class equipment, boosting their skills and confidence.
• We’ll host events, showcases, and competitions, bringing people together and putting our local area on the gymnastics map.
• It creates a safe, supportive space where children, teens and eventually adults can be active, make friends, and build lifelong skills.
• Our SEN school sessions will continue to reach to more and more schools in the local area, helping them to engage their pupils in a sport challenging them to practice skills on a weekly basis.
