Project New BUFC Grandstand

Aim

To meet National League criteria of providing a minimum of 500 seats and making the club future-ready, we need to fundraise for a new stand.

Who are we?

We are United

We are Banbury United Football Club, based at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium. We are proudly 100% owned by our community. 

Our men's first team plays in the Vanarama National League North. Our women's team competes in the Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League Division 1. The club is heavily involved in various community projects, both via its own facilities and as community outreach projects. 

Why are we crowdfunding?

Banbury United's men's team was promoted for the 2022-23 season. With promotion to the National League North has come various requirements. In order to compete in the play-offs and eventually for promotion, the league stipulates that we offer a minimum of 500 seats and a ground capacity of 3,000. Our current seated capacity, provided via the John Nicholls grandstand, falls short of this.

This is an extraordinary cost to the club and to be able to pay for the stand, we need to fundraise this Spring. 

The new stand will be part of the club's efforts to improve our infrastructure to offer spectators the best experience and to make us fit for the future.

This Crowdfunder is just one initiative the club is using to raise funds for this project. We are offering a named seat initiative, open to members initially, whereby supporters can have a plaque with their name affixed to a seat. Via this exercise, we hope to raise well in excess of £22,000. We will also be holding a social event for our loyal sponsors, whose support the club would not be here without and who stand by us year-in, year-out. We will keep everyone informed of our progress to raise funds.

How you can play your part

Please help us upgrade our facilities and make Banbury United fit for the future. We know that times are tight and are grateful for a donation of whatever can be spared. 

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

Community impact

Banbury United plays a strong role in the local community. Our facilities, indoor and out, are used by various community groups. This new stand will be an important part of our provision to the community.

This project successfully funded on 12th May 2023
