Cornwall Council: Community Chest Fund has provided £500 of match funding
We need to raise £4,100 to purchase a new defibrillator for Probus village and upgrade the two existing defibrillators at the same time.
We need a new centrally located defibrillator in Probus village!
There are two publicly accessible defibrillators in Probus - one outside the Surgery and the other at Probus Filling Station. Between them they provide the Southwest Ambulance Services minimum accepted distance of 500m for most of the village. But, as was discovered, and witnessed by many in Probus during the Coronation celebrations on 6th May, 500m is a very long way to run in an emergency where every second counts.
We hope to raise enough funds to purchase a new defibrillator and locate it at the village hall. As the two existing defibrillators are coming towards the end of their natural lives, the proposal is also to replace both at the same time.
The total amount needed for three new defibrillators with cabinets is £4,100.
A new defibrillator at Probus Village Hall, along with one being installed independently at Probus Primary School this summer will mean that almost all properties in Probus are no further than 300m from a publicly accessible defibrillator, and the vast majority well within that.
Please support this project - every donation made is important no matter what size and will directly benefit the community in Probus.
