Showcasing the extraordinary talent and creativity of Dartmoor and its surrounding communities, this free event promises to excite and entertain visitors with its diverse array of artistic disciplines, great entertainment, and rich cultural experiences.

The event is promoted and organised by enthusiastic volunteers, and free entry makes it accessible to everyone. However there are unavoidable administrative and promotional costs and we are asking for your help to meet these. Our fundraising target is £2,000 which will be a significant contribution towards our budget for venue and marquee hire, promotion and publicity, insurance, a sustainable transport park and ride option, performers fees and visitor facilities.

Thank you for your support! And of course we hope to see you at the Festival in July.

More information

Dartmoor and surrounding areas boast a vibrant artistic community, and the Princetown Arts Festival will again bring together talented artists from a wide range of artistic media. Attendees can expect to experience a wide range of art forms, including sculpture, photography, painting, literature, music, and much more. This festival is a melting pot of creativity, providing a platform for artists to showcase their talents and inspire others with their unique perspectives.

Entertainment is a key aspect in all festivals and acts in the inaugural festival were extremely well received and included folk, jazz, dance and gorgeous choral sessions. This year the PAF team hope to extend this repertoire to include blues, poetry, acrobatics and much more.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Dartmoor, the Princetown Arts Festival will take place in several enchanting venues throughout Princetown. This charming town, known as the highest settlement on the moors and famous for its iconic Dartmoor prison, adds an extra layer of allure to the festival experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore this historic town while immersing themselves in the vibrant arts scene.

Mark your calendars for July 20th to 21st, as the Princetown Arts Festival is not to be missed. With a full weekend dedicated to celebrating Dartmoor's artistic community, visitors will have ample time to appreciate the creativity on display and engage with the artists themselves.

But the Princetown Arts Festival is not just about art. It offers visitors a chance to delve into Dartmoor's rich cultural heritage. Beyond the captivating art displays, attendees are encouraged to extend their stay and discover the area's intriguing historical sites, including ancient stone circles, burial mounds, remnants of Bronze Age, Iron Age, and medieval settlements and of course Dartmoor Prison and its acclaimed Museum. This festival combines art with history, creating a truly immersive and unforgettable cultural experience.
