Help us support people facing homelessness today, and prevent it tomorrow, by restoring dignity, skills, and connection.
Who we are and what this project is about
For over 35 years, King’s Arms Project has been a constant presence in the heart of Bedford, responding with compassion to homelessness and isolation.
From our hub at 56 Harpur Street, we now welcome more than 1,500 people each year – individuals often facing some of the hardest moments of their lives.
We're not just known for helping people survive. We’re known for walking alongside them towards financial stability, confidence and connection. We don’t just offer support – we create space for people to live, grow and thrive.
Why we’re asking for your support
Our Outreach and Pathways teams work with those who have slipped through the cracks – people who’ve faced serious challenges and been left behind by systems that should have caught them.
The biggest barrier isn’t always homelessness or poverty. It’s often a loss of self-belief. Many no longer see their own worth.
That’s why our support goes beyond the practical. Through community events, creative sessions and hands-on courses, we help people rediscover their value, rebuild confidence, and learn the skills that open new doors.
These parts of our work are absolutely vital – and entirely reliant on fundraising to continue.
How your gift will help – and go twice as far
Thanks to match funding, every donation to this appeal will be doubled. That means your generosity will make twice the impact, right here in Bedford.
Here’s what your doubled gift could achieve:
£25 → £50: Provides warm clothing, sleeping bags or waterproofs
£50 → £100: Funds a session with a trained outreach worker
£75 → £150: Supports a full week of Pathways activities, helping someone rebuild their confidence
£150 → £300: Delivers a complete skills course – from bike maintenance to budgeting or ICT – for a group in need
At King’s Arms Project, people find value again – in themselves and in others. Together, we’re not just meeting needs. We’re building futures.
How you can help
There are simple, meaningful ways to get involved:
1. Make a donation
Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to our goal. Early donations help build momentum and inspire others to give.
2. Share our appeal
Tell a friend. Share it online. The more people who hear about our work, the more hope we can offer.
