Who are we?

Prestatyn Cricket Club is a friendly, diverse and volunteer run community sports club offering affordable and inclusive sport in North Wales.

Our cricket section consists of 2 Senior weekend teams, and Junior teams from age 9 to 19. We provide a sustainable, safe, family friendly and welcoming club environment and are proud to be at the heart of our local community. We believe that’s what makes our club so special to our members and visitors.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Prestatyn Cricket Club is embarking on a crowdfunding campaign to secure funds for essential new ground equipment. We are very lucky to have several hardworking volunteers that do a very good job in maintaining our ground. However, despite the many hours of their time they give back to the local community, most of our equipment is decades old and unfortunately no longer up to the task. With a significant rise in participation, particularly within our Junior sections, our ground is now in use 5 days a week during the summer season. It is therefore more important than ever that we look after our pitch facilities to ensure we can continue to grow the game of cricket in Prestatyn for our supportive community and offer affordable sport to all.

The most pressing purchase that we require, is a new wicket roller. Unfortunately, at the start of the 2024 season, our old diesel roller finally packed in after about 30 years of service at the club. It is imperative that a new roller is purchased as soon as possible for us to be able to fulfil our fixtures for the 2024 season. (We are currently hiring a roller at a great cost to the club)  For those that don’t know, a cricket wicket must be rolled before a match to ensure a consistent bounce and to maintain the safety of the batsmen. To put it simply, without the purchase of a new roller, we may not be able to play cricket in 2025.

Your generous support will enable us to uphold our commitment to providing accessible cricket for all members of our community for decades to come.

Recent fund raising

Over the last two years the committee have been successful with two grant applications to help improve the club. The first of these grants has allowed us to install solar panels on the cub house. This should will allow us to become more sustainable and reduce the running cost for the club.

The second grant was for a number of items, including new nets, a Gas BBQ, new benches for the BBQ for the patio area and a mower power unit. We are just waiting for some good weather to put these to use!1716743268_new_benches.jpg

The committee, players and members will be looking to have a number of fund- raising events during the year to help boost the revenue for the club. Recently a member of the committee had his 50th Celebrations at the club. We are hoping again to host the Manchester Caribbean's in the summer which is the highlight of our season.
