PRAY PALS - Emergency Aid To Ukraine

Aim

We are gathering and delivering specific, much needed emergency and medical equipment to those suffering the destruction of war in Ukraine.

Sadly, much donated aid and, much more so, donated money ends up in the wrong hands. Our project aims to get the maximum amount of goods delivered to the door of the people who most need it at the most efficient cost. 

Ukrainians in the war zone are facing their 3rd winter without heat and light. They will need warm clothes, bedding, generators, stoves, water purifying kit, medical supplies, baby food and a whole range of equipment for schools, hospitals and first responders. We will be collecting via the churches and other locations in our area. See website for details.

But our project is about more than money and kit. We want to rekindle the idea that in our community, 'to whom much has been given, much is expected'. War destroys. We want to ensure that what grows out of the ashes was worth the sacrifice. We see no 'victory' in creating a wasteland and calling it peace.

Our ethos is unashamedly Christian. Which means that, while we work for the saving of lives, we pray for the saving of souls. And we remember that Christ commands us to love our enemy! Not just those who agree with us! For what merit is there in that?

 We aim to bring people into, or back into, the Church and fill the 'God shaped hole' that is behind most of the mental health problems we face today. Which means we pray, often and sincerely, and in contrast to the warmongers, for peace. And we encourage others to do the same.
