This project successfully funded on 8th June 2022, you can still support them with a donation.

Aim: We're raising funds to provide an all weather artificial practice area to improve our current, future, old, young, male and female players.

Who are we?

Founded in 1979, we play at a picturesque ground on Knightsfield Road in the village of Hanbury, Staffordshire.

We currently have 3 adult teams - the Saturday 1st XI playing in the Derbyshire County Cricket League, a Sunday Friendly XI and for the more social cricketer our Beer team play on Friday evening.

Our junior section is growing with 5 different age groups covered - u17s, u15s, u13s, u11s and Kwik Cricket teams all playing in the Burton and District Junior Leagues. We also run the ECB All-Stars initiative for 5-8 year olds over an 8-week course on a Saturday morning though the summer.

In 2019 we also started a Ladies Softball team which participates in Ladies Softball Festivals in the local area.

Community impact

Our aim is to be able to provide cricket an all weather cricket training area where we can provide 1-to-1 and group training with qualified coaches. This would help grow the club and bring new people in to a beautiful village cricket club.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Installing artificial practice net facilities is very expensive and over the past couple of years we have suffered as nearly all sporting clubs have with financial burden of the pandemic. Without these practice nets it is getting increasingly difficult to provide adequate training facilities and we, as a club, believe that we have a responsibility along with all grassroots cricket clubs to give all players, young and old, every opportunity to be the best that they can. They future of the game depends on small clubs like ours producing players that can go on and reach higher levels. We have had some success in the the very recent past with this but it's getting harder each year to be able to help the players progress.

How we’ll spend the money raised

All money raised will be used to install practice net facilities like those in the picture below. We've been quoted in the region of £35,000 for the installation so we need all the help we can get from our supporters and friends.
