Help Bring Pottsy the Studio Mascot to Life

Aim: We’re creating a studio mascot to help children feel safe and inspired while painting and being creative starting with a plush character.

I’m Elaina, a female sole trader and proud owner of The Painting Pot – an award winning pottery painting and creative arts studio in North Yorkshire. My studio is a creative, welcoming space where children and families come to paint, relax, and make memories.

Our Vision

Every day I witness how art can soothe anxiety, boost confidence, and spark connection, especially for neurodivergent children and those who find social settings challenging. That’s why I created Pottsy – a fluffy, non-binary studio mascot designed to help young painters feel safe, seen and supported. Pottsy was 'discovered”'hiding in a box of pottery supplies here in the studio, and since then they’ve become a symbol of warmth, welcome and imagination in our studio.

We want Pottsy to do more than just decorate a shelf. We want them to:

• Sit at tables while children paint
• Be cuddled during creative sessions
• Feature in an in-studio storybook that supports emotional wellbeing
• Offer free stickers and colouring pages to every young visitor

How the Crowdfunding Will Help:

Your support will help us:

• Professionally produce the first plush Pottsy prototype
• Create a ceramic mould so we can offer a paint-your-own Pottsy experience

Provide free in-studio resources for children to enjoy (colouring, stories, mascot interactions)

This is just Phase One.

We hope to expand to:

•  Blind box collectibles
•  Crochet patterns
• Merch & Studio Support Packs
• A nationwide studio rollout for Pottsy!

We’re not creating just a character – we’re building a therapeutic creative companion.
