To purchase a de airing pugmill for our community pottery groups. Allowing 100% clay to be recycled, and increase the number of workshops.
A volunteer run organisation of approximately 20 people we run a series of art and craft workshops for the community.
We provide a safe space for people to come and create in the company of other like-minded people. This environment improves mental wellbeing and relieves social isolation. It offers an opportunity for peer to peer support and fosters friendships. Finally at the end everyone will have the satisfaction of achieving something they can take home.
Three pottery groups are run each week all of which are over subscribe. Each week a lot of clay is wasted because people often take too much so the excess dries out, rendering it not able to be used. We currently save all of this clay probably enough for 6 months to date.
With a de airing pugmill we can recycle ALL of our waste saving both money and run a additional workshop each week.
