Dear friends and new co-owners,
It's Day 4 and we've more than doubled our number of investors since our last update. A whopping 420 of you are now co-owners, and with £76,310 invested we're getting close to 40% of our target. Thank you, and welcome on board! Every time we see a new investor appear on our campaign page, it’s a vote of confidence in what we do.
Also, a massive thank you to everyone who attended our #OwnTheMedia launch event at Nesta in London on Tuesday night. Meeting so many old and new readers, journalists and friends from near and far and hearing your heart-warming words of support has been absolutely wonderful. Our journalist Lucy Purdy wrote about the launch on our website and you can check out the pictures on Facebook.
Our collective reach is huge - let's use it
We're off to a great start but we still have a long way to go. We have got to where we are now because of you, and right now, you and your own personal networks are our best chance we have of making it all the way.
What we'd really love all our co-owners to do is to share our project on social media and email.
Crowdfunder research shows that up to 40% of investments come directly via Facebook, so there is massive potential for us there. Direct emails to close friends and relatives is the other powerful tool we have as collective owners.
Imagine if all 420 of us shared the project link and got just one other person to join as owners: that would double our numbers right away and bring us so close to the end goal!
