We would like to use the funds to provide 'Positive Life Experiences'(PLE's)FREE clothes shopping experience to children living in the Wigan

“Daffodils Dreams are passionate about improving the lives of children and families living in poverty, through engaging and connecting communities that have, with communities that need, providing resources for those without life’s essentials, enabling the opportunity for underprivileged children to thrive at home, at school and at play"

We provide "Positive Life Experience" PLE's) to children identified to us through our referral process. A PLE can be having clothes, underwear, toiletries, bedding, receiving Christmas and birthday presents, visiting the barbers/hairdressers/activity centre and so many other things that a lot of children take for granted daily.

Our project supports the vulnerable young people within our community. Children will be invited, with their social worker/parent for a free shopping experience to choose clothes they like and fit them properly from our preloved boutique. The shopping experience includes sampling our very own "Dilly Daffs" cakes in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. They have previously been delivered to the elderly and vulnerable in the Wigan Borough and have proven to be very popular.

There are so many benefits to children being able to choose their owns clothes rather than just handouts. It can boost their self-esteem and allow them to develop their own identity.

This project will also help families struggling financially and will help more young people reach their potential by giving them self confidence in their appearance.

Any money raised will be used to buy the items of clothing, underwear, nightwear and footwear that we may not have in our stocks at the time of the referral. Ingredients and refreshments will also be funded by the money raised, ensuring that we can continue to bake a choice of our "Dilly Daffs" cakes to serve up to the children.

Our Vision

Engaging communities that HAVE with Communities that NEED

Every child comes into this world the same way, and we believe every child deserves the right to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life. All children should be offered the same opportunities in life regardless of their background or the financial situation of their parents. The team at Daffodils Dreams want to help children reach their full potential by giving them opportunities to explore their natural gifts and thrive in life.

Our Annual Initiatives

Clothes Drive

  • Poverty is a year-round condition, and young children outgrow essential like clothes, toys, and books quickly. As a result, our missions is not based on a “one and done” philosophy. We undertake several initiatives all year long.

These families struggle to pay for rent and groceries and often can’t afford anything else. Basic items for their children-clothes that fit, shoes, a coat for cold weather-are simply not possible. Daffodils Dreams works to fill this critical yet overlooked need.

Without adequate and appropriate clothing, children face unfair barriers and participate in life on an unequal playing field. We use the term “Clothing Insecurity” as part of our efforts to formally recognize the issue, and increase awareness on this hidden basic need.

What Poverty Looks and Feels Like for Kids

The kids we help don’t have shoes that fit, a coat warm enough to fend off winter winds. clothes, underwear, nightwear, bedding, toys, games, and books to entertain themselves and their families. Without these basics, they suffer. Their school attendance suffers. They have a hard time learning in school. They rarely participate in extra-curricular activities. They don’t feel valued.

Our Mission: Daffodils Dreams provides children from birth through age 18, living in low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. We supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities.

Our Vision: One day every child will have the essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued.

Our dedicated team of volunteers are involved in decision making and we are always asking for their feedback. The volunteers are all local people who understand the needs of our children and families so their views and opinions are used to help shape and evolve our projects.

We are well connected with support services. social workers, Start Well workers and other organisations who share our excitement at the thought of our new project.
