About Positive Birth Movement
Positive Birth Movement is a global network of free to attend antenatal groups, linked up by social media. We connect pregnant women together to share stories, expertise and positivity about childbirth. We aim to challenge the epidemic of negativity and fear that surrounds modern birth, and help change birth for the better.
Our Reach
We currently have 250 groups in the UK and over 200 in the rest of the world. We have groups in 36 countries.
Set up in 2013 by Milli Hill, author of The Positive Birth Book and birth expert columnist for the Telegraph, The Positive Birth Movement has run from vast amounts of in-kind support and unpaid passion.
Our Needs
We have now reached a stage where we need to address the administrative needs of the Movement, seek some advise on constitution and funding possibilities. We need to spend some time strengthening our background structure, how we legally constitute ourselves and how we can ask grant providers and trusts for our future financial needs. We are asking for support towards the costs of paying for Milli and a Development Consultant to help sustain and grow the Positive Birth Movement so that we can continue to deliver this fantastic work. We are asking you to fund 6 months of development activity. With this support we hope to be able to ensure that the PBM can keep functioning, without draining the energy and goodwill of its core team.
