Aim: To improve our clubs facilities to provide a better, safer more professional place for children and adults to enjoy the game of football.

A Brief History of Port Tennant Colts AFC

Port Tennant Colts AFC, established in 1960, began life as Crymlyn Burrows before adopting the name that now proudly represents Eastside Swansea.

The club was founded by the late Brin Bidder, a respected figure in Welsh grassroots football.

Brin played a vital role in both the Swansea Senior Football League and the West Wales Football Association, dedicating over four decades to developing the game locally.

His incredible service to football and the wider community was honoured in 1996, when Princess Anne presented him with the prestigious Torch Trophy, recognising his lifelong commitment to community sport. Brin’s legacy lives on, not only in the club’s name but in the values and spirit it continues to uphold.

Today, Port Tennant Colts is a thriving and well-established community club in the Swansea Senior League. As the leading senior team in the Eastside of Swansea, we are ambitious to grow and progress through the Welsh League pyramid. But to do so, we must invest in our facilities.

We are planning initial essential upgrades at the Ashlands Sports Centre, now proudly renamed the Brin Bidder Playing Fields. Central to this is the installation of a spectator barrier around the pitch and moveable goalposts — a vital step to meeting league requirements and creating a more professional and safe matchday environment for our teams, supporters and local community.

Further along the line we will be looking to improve the facility further by improving the playing surface and adding more equipment to help improve the youth team facilities. We also intend to put on more events throughout the year with local schools and clubs to help expose our club and sport further.

With the support of the local council, community, and local businesses, we aim to restore the Ashlands as the new hub of community sport, providing a welcoming and inspiring space for players of all ages and abilities.

We believe these improvements will not only benefit our current youth and senior squads but ensure a safe, inclusive environment for future generations to enjoy the game we all love.

Your support can make a lasting difference!

Whether you're a local business, football supporter, or community member — any donation, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Let’s come together to honour Brin’s legacy and build something incredible for the Eastside of Swansea!
