To raise urgent funds to help more dogs rescued from the Kill Shelters in Romania. Please help us give them a chance x
Pennypaws volunteer Jonathan Slatter is taking on a 21K Half Marathon on Saturday 19th September to raise urgently needed funds for dogs rescued from the kill shelters of Romania.
But Jonathan is also running for the Love of Lenny ❤️
Lenny was a dear old boy rescued by Pennypaws in Romania. Thanks to the amazing support of Pennypaws supporters, he was able to spend his final months in a little more comfort, surrounded by love and care.
Now Jonathan is running in Lenny's memory — and for all the dogs who still desperately need our help.
The Route
The run starts at the beginning of the Causeway at Ferry Bridge on the mainland, heading across to the Isle of Portland, with Chesil Beach on one side and Portland Harbour on the other.
From there, Jonathan will pass the National Sailing Academy, head into Castletown towards the docks, and then tackle the steep old Merchant Railway line up to the top of Portland at Verne.
The route then heads clockwise around the island, following the coast path south towards the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse, before returning along the dramatic west-side cliffs.
Finally, it's down into Fortuneswell and on to the finish at Portland Marina.
21 kilometres. One spectacular route. One very special reason.
❤️ Please support Jonathan's run
Every donation, however small, will help Pennypaws continue rescuing, caring for and finding loving homes for dogs who desperately need a second chance.
Run for Lenny. Run for the dogs. 🐾
