At Poole Sailability we are here to allow local people with disabilities to sail. We are an RYA-accredited volunteer run charity which, in a normal year and weather dependent runs over 80 sailing sessions offering around 1,000 spaces on board our 4 Hawk 20 sailing boats in the safety of Poole harbour.
Community outreach is a key focus of our activities allowing many people, who would simply never experience it otherwise, to enjoy sailing under the guidance of our very capable skippers. We have sailed with people from organisations such as The Youth Cancer Trust, Young Carers, Green Island Holidays, Downs and MS groups. We also welcome young people from local SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) schools for weekly sessions during their summer term working towards the RYA Sailability Entry Level and Bronze level certificates.
We also run two club sessions per week for those who wish to develop their sailing skills under supervision or those who just take pleasure from being out on the water.
In 2025 we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of our founding. The name has changed but we still have the same mission to help people enjoy being on the water in a friendly social environment.
