Your support makes a difference
To create a Polish community theatre where children and adults can connect, develop their talents and celebrate Polish culture in the UK.
We are creating a Polish Amateur Theatre as part of the Polski Dom/Polish House community project, run by Intra Conspectum CIC.
Our vision is to create a welcoming community theatre where Polish-speaking children and adults living in the UK can meet, build confidence, develop their creativity and acting skills, and create something meaningful together.
The theatre will have two sections: one for children aged 9+ and one for adults. We want to provide opportunities for people with different levels of experience. You do not need to be a professional actor; enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to be part of the group are what matter.
Why does this project matter?
For many Polish people living in the UK, maintaining a connection with their language, culture and heritage is important. At the same time, community activities can help people form friendships, reduce isolation and feel that they belong.
Theatre brings all of these things together.
Through rehearsals and performances, participants will have opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills, creativity and teamwork. Children can engage with the Polish language and culture in an enjoyable way, while adults can discover or rediscover their creative interests and become part of a supportive local community.
Our productions may draw inspiration from Polish literature, folklore, traditions and original stories, while also reflecting the experiences of Polish people living in Britain today.
What are we raising money for?
We are at the beginning of this journey and need support to build the theatre on a sustainable basis.
Money raised through this campaign will help us cover essential costs such as:
• hiring suitable rehearsal and performance spaces
• costumes, props and scenery
• basic theatre and technical equipment
• scripts and production materials
• printing and promotional materials
• activities and resources for participants
• costs associated with organising performances and community events
Every contribution, large or small, will help us move closer to putting our first productions on stage.
More than a performance
Our aim is not simply to produce plays. We want to create a place where people meet, friendships develop, creativity grows and Polish cultural heritage can be shared with the next generation and the wider community.
We want our theatre to become a lasting part of the Polish community in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and the surrounding areas, while remaining open and welcoming to people who want to participate in and support our activities.
People. Culture. Passion. A shared stage.
Help us build the Polish Amateur Theatre and create our first stories together.
