Aim
Since 2020 Plymouth PIE Club has fed the most vulnerable in the city and we want to continue to do that with your help!!!
When lockdown changed life for everyone in 2020, we recognised that many of Plymouth’s most vulnerable residents were at risk of being forgotten. People who couldn’t leave their homes, older residents living alone, and those with no support network still needed a hot meal and a friendly face. So we stepped in.
Together with our amazing volunteers and supporters, we delivered over 20,000 hot meals to people across the city when they needed us most.
Today, Plymouth PIE Club continues that same mission. Every Wednesday and Sunday, we deliver freshly prepared, nutritious meals to older and vulnerable people throughout Plymouth, ensuring they receive not only good food but also regular contact and reassurance that someone cares.
For us, it’s about so much more than a meal. From the very first phone call to every doorstep delivery, we build genuine relationships with the people we support. Many of our clients become friends, and those few minutes spent chatting on the doorstep can mean just as much as the meal itself.
We also provide a befriending service for people experiencing loneliness and isolation. A simple weekly phone call from one of our wonderful volunteers can brighten someone’s day, give them something to look forward to, and remind them that they are not alone.
We work hard to keep our service affordable because we believe nobody should be priced out of receiving a nutritious meal and compassionate support.
