 New stretch target

Although we have set a target of £1500, this is only a small proportion of the running costs for a season in the Women's Premier League. Any extra money will be used to plan for the following 2016/17 season and enable us to set up a stable home base and improve our training facilities as well as ensuring we give ourselves the best possible chance of competing in the current season.

We're raising funds to cover costs for matches, training and everything in between, so that we can sustain our future in the Women's Premier League  - join us and help to make it happen!

Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC were promoted to the Women's Premier League for the 2014/15 season. We did well to compete and maintain our position in the league but in order to progress, we need your help. The aim of our project is to raise our profile and engage the local community in our fight for survival in one of the hardest leagues in the country. Plymouth needs football teams that are competitive and putting our city on the map and that is exactly what we intend to do with your support.

Raising some much needed cash is the difference between Plymouth Argyle Football Club having a ladies team or not.....it's that simple. The main beneficiaries will be our supporters, who travel far and wide to see the ladies play, and also our talented young players that need a team competing at the highest possible level to ensure they are able to progress and showcase their talents on a national stage.

We need to raise £5000 in total and we have already managed to raise £2500 through sponsorship and fundraising events. We therefore need to raise a further £2500 and this will help us to increase our training from one session to two sessions a week and we would love to be able to purchase some training kit. We also have to travel 4000 miles every season and it would be great if we were able to travel to away games the night before so we are better prepared on match days. There are also all the smaller things such as equipment, match day food and warm up tops that we won't have without your help.

We need everyone to get behind this project so that we can keep the spirit of women's football alive in Plymouth!

Plymouth Argyle Ladies Football Club

Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC was formed in 1975 as a result of a 5-a-side league at the Mayflower Leisure Centre. Two teams merged in order to enter an 11-a-side football tournament in Newquay, Cornwall with the team creating the name of 'Plymouth Pilgrims'. The club name changed to 'Saltash Pilgrims' in the late 90's and the early part of the year 2000 to reflect their home ground at the time – Saltash United's Kimberly Stadium in Cornwall. It was not until the 2001–02 season that the club, then competing in the SW Combination League, were invited to compete under the umbrella of Plymouth Argyle F.C., and Plymouth Argyle Ladies were formed.

The club won the Devon Women's County Cup for a record seven years out of eight from 2003 up to 2010 also finishing runners up in 2007. Since then the club has won the cup on another two occasions in 2012 and 2014 with another runners up spot in 2013. They have won the SW Combination Women’s League twice (in 2010/11 and 2013/14 finishing runners up on two other occasions. They also won the Ambassadors Cup in 2008 and 2011.

The club has also been the starting place for a number of high profile players, most notably Jemma Rose who currently plays for Arsenal Ladies in the Womens Super League and was on stand by for the recent Women's World Cup squad. The potential is there for several of our younger players to follow in Jemma's footsteps.

Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC play their home games at Elburton Villa FC's Haye Road and we are very grateful for the support they have given us over the last couple of seasons.

Please tell your family, friends, colleagues and business contacts about our crowdfunding project. The players are currently doing everything we can to raise money for the club but we can't do it without you. Everyone who donates will receive free entry to a home game of their choice.

From everyone at PALFC, we would appreciate any help and support you have to offer, no matter how big or small!
