Upgrading Pledwick CC with new female changing rooms and a kitchen refit to keep our community club inclusive and sustainable.
Who are we?
Pledwick CC is a thriving community sports club in West Yorkshire. We are proud to provide inclusive cricket for all ages and host major community events, including our famous local car boot sales which welcome hundreds of local residents to our ground.
Why are we crowdfunding?
To ensure our club remains financially sustainable and truly welcoming to everyone, we are launching a major facility upgrade for the 2026 season. Our current clubhouse urgently needs modernising to remove barriers to participation and secure our financial future.
We are aiming to reach 50 unique supporters to unlock a massive £4,000 match-funding grant from the Sport England Movement Fund!
How we will spend the money raised
We are undertaking a comprehensive £10,000 facility upgrade. The club is leading from the front by committing £2,000 of our own cash reserves. We are aiming to raise £4,000 from our crowd, which Sport England will then match pound-for-pound with another £4,000.
Female Changing Facilities & Toilets (£3,000): We are reconfiguring our dressing rooms to include proper partitioning, privacy doors, and dedicated sanitary provision. This is vital to safely accommodate our growing women's and girls' section.
Commercial Kitchen Refurbishment (£7,000): We are upgrading our failing kitchen with durable, hygienic, commercial-grade equipment to generate sustainable match-day and community event revenue.
Community impact
By upgrading the kitchen, we generate the vital income needed to keep junior and senior cricket subscriptions affordable for local families amidst rising costs. Upgrading the changing rooms ensures that cricket at Pledwick CC is a sport for everyone, tackling inequalities and actively supporting female participation in grassroots sport.
How you can play your part
