Help to fund Debs final body surgery

Aim

I've already had multiple private surgeries but have run out of cash and need help to achieve my lifetime dream.

What is this about you ask ...

I am a petite woman in her 50s who has lost a huge amount of weight. I am under 5ft tall and used to have 68" hips, i.e, I was wider than I was tall !

Then I lost weight. Over 11 and a half stones ... over 2 years with Slimming World. (Thanks Donna !)

Fabulous you might say - but I then had to deal with proportionally the loosest skin I've ever seen (and I looked around on the internet at A LOT of massive weight loss photos). 

I looked and felt like a tiny skeleton stuck inside a giant hot sleeping bag made of skin. Not how anyone wants to live, this affected my mobility, daily hygiene and dignity.

And ? 

I have already self-funded two combined body operations, combining 6 areas of my body - 16 hrs of sugery in total - to lift and reconstruct everything above thigh level. 

To make those earlier operations happen I took out a bank loan AND an extra mortgage. Costs to get me this far have been over £35k

The two procedures would originally have included my thigh areas but I have bleeding issues which slowed down what could be achieved each time. A final procedure is needed for the huge amount of sagging skin on my thighs.

How is my body now ?

I am very happy with the results of the sugeries I paid for in 2020/2021 and I have never been so active and engaged with life. Before I lost weight I could walk only a few yards before becoming breathless; I now often walk with my dog for 2-3 hours and its still a wonderful experience.

However...My thigh skin hangs like big loose curtains  flop around inside trousers, so that I can't wear patterned trousers without looking very odd. The bags of skin on one leg extend down over my kneecap and bounce about when I'm walking. Either leg can easily get stuck to/under the other leg in bed. My leg skin is very fragile and they are often sore and covered in bruises, especially after I've been on a long walk. My thigh skin floats all over the place when I swim and floats to the top of the water if I'm sat in the bath.

SO ?

I'm asking you to help to fund the final surgery that I need. I can still raise some of what is needed myself but the balance is 5K.

I've considered showing pictures of all this but those who know me will have seen anyways and I dont want to focus on what will hopefully be behind me.
