Max is a lovely little Staffordshire Bull Terrier who hasn't had the best life so far. Recently, his owner was unable to keep him and so he was adopted by a lady who now spoils him rotten. Unfortunately, there's a problem. Max has a huge growth on his rear (right) leg.  This should have been treated a long time ago and the vet has advised that amputation is the only solution.  It's such a shame. Max is a typical Staffie, loving, affectionate, good with other dogs and permanently happy. He doesn't deserve this.

Although he's getting on in years, he's very lively and healthy otherwise.

Today he had his rear right leg amputated and will need lots of TLC- which he's sure to get. But the vets' bills are out of reach for his new owner. Plainly, she couldn't get Max insured because his tumour would be an existing condition- and wouldn't be covered by insurance.  The vet advises that the cost of the operation is £1500.

As you can see, the tumour has already (recently) burst and the skin is very tight. He's also at grave risk of infection.  The tumour cannot simply be removed because it has grown into the muscle of the leg: amputation is the only solution.

He's such a lovely, happy and special little chap. Could you please consider donating whatever you can to help Max's owner pay for this vital treatment?  Please note that I (the person setting up this crowdfunding) am not Max's owner. I'm just a fellow dog lover who has met Max and who believes he deserves his life. I will be donating money myself.  Thank you on behalf of myself, Max's owner and especially, thanks from Max himself.
