Plastic@Bay
16th March 2020Keeping Busy
We have just passed 50% of our target, thank you to everyone who donated so far. It really means a lot to us.
Here is a glimpse of how we work.
At Plastic@Bay we are always busy, cleaning the beaches, looking for ways to recycle what we collect, and trying to spread the message about the devastating long lasting effect of plastic pollution.
In the past week, Julien has been testing equipment to make 20*20*500 mm beams from recycled ocean plastic with great results. He has made a cool quadratic sound diffuser with a theoretical absorption range 700-8000 Hz. Scroll down for pictures.
We also had the kids from the local highschool over for a workshop.

And got involved in the Great Nurdle Hunts, gathering 214 nurdles from our local beach. The recent winter storms are bring in lots and lots of microplastics. That's 180 more nurdles than we collected last year.
