Aim

Help Phil & Jim raise £10,000! Inspire our children and community to "Go Green" to protect the environment and build a sustainable future.

Pupils at Phil & Jim are passionate about caring for their environment. We want to support them to make positive changes, not just to their school, but also to their local environment and to their planet.

By investing in our outdoor learning spaces and eco-friendly resources we can provide hands-on experiences that help children to learn about, care for and enjoy the natural world. These opportunities will strengthen their connection to nature and deepen their environmental awareness and understanding of how individual actions can positively shape the world around them. In turn, they will grow in confidence and become informed, motivated advocates for the environment.

Through this project, we hope to create a healthier, happier, and greener school environment that will benefit our pupils and staff, while also engaging families and the wider community.

What will we do?

In this first phase, the funds raised will help us improve our outdoor areas. By adding more plants and trees and a dedicated rewilded area, we will create a nature-rich environment, increase biodiversity and help to mitigate against flooding. Also, by introducing more natural shaded spaces in the school grounds, we can prepare for hotter summers and protect our children as they play and learn.

This funded project will also help to inspire the next generation of committed active citizens - our “courageous advocates” for nature and the climate. By supporting the work of Phil and Jim's newly-formed Eco-Council, pupils will be able to lead their own sustainability projects across the school and in their local environment. Activities such as litter picking and awareness raising on waste reduction (including food, paper and energy) will help to create a cleaner and greener school environment for everyone.

“Phil and Jim Goes Green” is just the beginning of our school’s commitment to climate action and achieving net zero. Looking ahead, the school plans to explore bigger projects too, such as making more effective use of the solar energy we already generate, and further energy-saving measures across the school. We are just getting started!

How can you support us?

Join us in our mission to support the children of Phil and Jim as they commit to climate action and working towards net zero!

  • Could you donate to get this project off the ground? Don’t forget to Gift Aid: when you do, your donation is worth 25% more, as the PTA is able to claim this from HMRC.
  • Could you share this page and our vision with a neighbour, local business or family member?
