Imagine a child curled up with a book that sparks their imagination… instead of scrolling endlessly. That’s the future we’re building—together.

For 30 years, I’ve poured my heart into publishing, helping stories find their way into the world. But the story that changed everything was one the industry turned away from: my daughter’s heartfelt book, Welcome to the World, created to comfort parents of preterm babies with empathy, hope, and gentle magic.

It received silence from agents. No funding. No path forward.

The industry said 'No' to a book for preterm babies because it didn't fit a spreadsheet. We are saying 'Yes' to the stories that actually matter.

That silence broke something in me—and lit a fire. The most powerful stories—those that heal, inspire empathy, and nurture young imaginations—are too often ignored by algorithms and profit-driven gates. We can’t let that continue.

That’s why I’m launching the Pixie Star In You Fund: a £10,000 campaign to spark a movement that puts heart over algorithms, champions overlooked creators, and brings the joy of real storytelling back to children and families.

Our Three Pillars of Lasting Change

1.  Creative Corners: The Lasting Legacy
We equip schools and community hubs with storytelling kits, books, and cozy corners that turn reading into adventure.

2.  Creator’s Grants: Lighting Up Hidden Stars
We fund production for rejected authors and artists creating meaningful work—beautiful physical books and thoughtful digital stories that fight mindless scrolling.
Your support helps birth books that build deep reading habits, empathy, and wonder in children.

3.  Access & Belonging Grants: No Child Left Outside the Story Circle
We remove barriers so every child can join the magic.

• Fund tickets to book festivals for families who couldn’t otherwise attend.
• Provide “Belonging Grants” for isolated children to pursue art, music, or passions that rebuild confidence away from screens.

Revenue from my own books (The Puffin and The Pebble and Puffairy) is forever locked into the fund—every sale today guarantees a child tomorrow discovers their own treasure in stories.

The £10,000 Roadmap (All or Nothing)

Every penny of this goal is mapped to turn digital dreams into physical impact. Because this is All or Nothing, we must hit the full target to unlock the magic.

• £5,000 | The Sanctuary Fund: Creative Corners : We provide the funding for community hubs to establish their own "Creative Corners." This grant allows them to source physical "magic rugs," cozy seating, and a curated library of our funded books, creating a local sanctuary for deep reading and empathy to grow.
• £4,000 | The Creator’s Grant: Lighting Up Hidden Stars : This is the soul of our mission. We provide the grants and professional production support required to birth books from overlooked authors and artists. Your support turns "rejected" manuscripts into high-quality physical treasures, ensuring that deep, soul-stirring stories reach children's hands instead of being lost to the digital void.
• £1,000 | Removing Barriers (The Access Fund) : Sponsoring tickets and transport for families to attend book festivals, ensuring every child belongs in the world of stories.
