The piXie Harness is the the World's 1st safety Shoulder Harness for pregnant women in cars & eliminates the diagonal from across mum's tum.
The piXie® Harness is the world’s 1st shoulder harness for pregnant women in cars.
Standard car seatbelts were never designed with Pregnant women in mind and in a car accident, can easily kill or maim an unborn baby. To alleviate this risk, we have developed the” piXie® Pregnancy Seatbelt Harness” for Pregnant women, that completely removes the diagonal strap from across the mothers tummy!
Using the piXie® Harness, the diagonal strap is now placed behind the wearer and acts as an anchor for the piXie® Harness. In an accident, the diagonal strap locks and holds back the piXie® Harness, restraining the wearer by the shoulders & chest.
piXie's development has received support from McLaren F1 boss, Ron Dennis, the midwives charity, “Tommy’s” and the RAC. The piXie® Harness was featured in Mothercare’s own magazine, “Gurgle”. The piXie Harness has received worldwide interest in TV & media coverage, including The Discovery channel, CBS TV, ITV, BBC R2, BBC News, the Daily Mail, the Daily telegraph, MSN-cars, RAC, Green flag, Road Safety GB, Pregnancy.org and many other news & website feeds.
With granted UK & European patents, covering 5.5million births/yr, and a registered trademark, the harness has been manufactured to date, in the UK by a leading, Silverstone based, racing Harness manufacturer. We have test sold the piXie® Harness exclusively from the website, inviting reviews from pregnant mothers and midwives, (which have been excellent).
We have signed a “Supplier Agreement” with a major UK pharmaceutical retailer, "Boots", to initially sell online and are negotiating order details. Other major retailers including Kiddicare & Babies R Us, have said they will sell the piXie Harness, once it is 'Retailer ready', IE: suitably packaged and held in stock. Online sales are a major target, selling worldwide through our own website.
Initial target markets are Europe & the USA, (= Ca. 10million births/yr combined), giving conservative sales of £13m by yr4. However, China and other emerging economies are targets for a premium British, luxury, "Elite" piXie Harness, handmade at the Silverstone Grand Prix racing circuit.
Other markets such as Stoma patients and children, are future markets for the piXie® Harness and associated developments.
