Aim

Pitt St. Skatepark wants to improve health and wellbeing through a new studio space and make improvements/maintain it's popular skatepark.

Who are we?

What started as our dream has become something truly unique. Pitt St. Skatepark has transformed an old Sainsbury’s into an indoor haven for all wheeled sports. A place where rain never stops play and everyone is welcome to roll, ride, and connect.

We’re more than just a skatepark, we’re a community. Our sessions cater for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds; from beginners and kids, to adults, to those with additional needs.

We run coaching sessions, girls’ nights, under-5s sessions, sessions for home educated families, SEN sessions, skate competitions, roller discos, and so much more.

We’re proud to operate in one of the most economically challenged areas of the city, and we take that responsibility seriously. Accessibility and affordability are at the heart of everything we do. Pitt St. Kitchen serves great food and drink at affordable prices, making it a welcoming spot for everyone, whether you’re skating, spectating, or just grabbing a brew with friends.

We regularly donate boards and equipment to new skaters to help them get started, and every year we give out thousands of pounds worth of “Pitt Coin” our gift vouchers to local schools, youth groups, and organisations, so more people can enjoy the space, regardless of cost.

GOOGLE REVIEWS:
"Awesome skate park, super friendly staff, great food, and dope merch!"

"Rad skatepark run by brilliant people and the coffee is fantastic 👌"

"Great vibe, loads of space, shop, tidy food and a bar!"

The venue has already welcomed markets, wellness fairs, and even world renowned DJs like Fatboy Slim, Chase & Status, and Pendulum, making Pitt St. a creative space unlike any other.

But we’ve only just begun. We have huge plans to grow, improve, and keep giving back to the community that made this all possible, from upgrading facilities to expanding inclusive programmes and keeping sessions affordable for everyone.

Come rain or shine, Pitt St. Skatepark has you covered!

Why are we crowdfunding?

Pitt St. Skatepark is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which means every penny goes back into keeping the space running and accessible.  We need to improve facilities; mend and repair, upgrade areas, maintain current spaces and buy new kit regularly.

We may welcome over 50,000 visitors a year, and we’ve hosted some incredible events, but the reality is that maintaining a huge, partially historic building is expensive. From electricity bills to roof repairs and insurance, our overheads are massive!!

We hope to raise at least £20,000 to put towards:

- Pitt St.udios, new studio space for all

- Maintenance and Repairs

Help Us Build a Bigger, Better Future with Pitt St.udios!

We want to ensure our beloved community space not only thrives but grows to serve you better than ever. The centrepiece of our campaign is the Pitt St.udios project, a purpose-built, multi-functional facility designed to become a sustainable income generator for the park. This new space will be an extension to our skatepark, available for fitness classes such as yoga, community groups, exhibitions, workshops eg SkateGB coaching courses, private hire such as birthday parties, and crucially, it will include an additional, much-needed accessible toilet/change facility for all visitors. This studio will be a huge addition to our already loved space.  It will provide that quiet space away from all the chaos. If you are interested in knowing more about this space and how you can book it, reach out to us!

Ramps & Safety

Critical maintenance and improvements to our well loved ramps, skatepark and surrounding areas.  We need to ensure our equipment remain safe and durable for the 10,000's of visitors every year. *FUN FACT* We have seen over 35,000 paid entries in the last 12 months!

How we’ll spend the money raised

Once we have raised enough money we will be able to start work. This may take a while and may need input from various sources… We will continue to keep trying!

The total will be split relatively between repairs/maintenance and the build of Pitt St.udios.

Break down of what is needed:

- Ramp/Door/Floor repairs

- Safety barrier maintenance

- Shop counter repair

- Painting

- New studio build with finfishes

- New air system for studio

- Equipment (Stackable chairs, fold away tables, matting etc.)
