Aim

Pitshanger Dynamo FC are a football club based in West London. We are looking to raise sponsorship money for the 2019/2020 football season!

Hello r/soccer,

I am a player for Pitshanger Dynamo FC based in West London. If Pitshanger rings any bells it might be because it is where none other than Peter Crouch grew up! (Home to the famous Samrat curry house)

A couple of years ago r/soccer helped a club raise some money to stop them folding (https://goo.gl/ZQ2gji) My club are looking for sponsors for this season and this got me thinking, could we get r/soccer to sponsor us and back a non-league club?

We have a first and a reserve team. The first team play in the 11th tier of English football, the Middlesex County Premier League (Only 10 years away from playing in the Premier League!) We are a well-run club and have won the county RESPECT Award in both 2015 and 2016. Last year the first team came 3rd in the league and got to a cup final, averaging over 3 goals a game. The reserves have had back to back promotions and won their cup final last season. They hot on the heels of the firsts just a division below.

This season should be a very entertaining year as both teams aim to win their leagues. To gain promotion clubs need minimum standard of facilities and we ground share with a local semi-professional team Hanwell Town - it is in excellent condition and has been selected as a host training ground venue for Euro 2020 https://twitter.com/tomduffyy/status/1154340249323089921

We are completely self-funded. Players pay a registration fee at the start of the season, and then pay for any training session or match they attend. Throughout the year we run multiple fund raising events generating money that goes to the club and multiple charities that are very close to the club.

What’s on offer? Basically, anything we can viably offer that the sub wants! Here are some ideas:

  • Have r/soccer across our shirts (if Reddit licensing laws are okay)
  • Have a Redditor design a shirt for us
  • Film home match (and away if facilities allow)
  • Any budding commentators could try their hand at speaking over the top
  • Exhibition match against a Reddit XI
  • Season ticket (Otherwise you will have to pay an extortionate £2)
  • Stadium Pitchside Advertising

At the very least we can all go for a curry in the Samrat!

Cheers

Gerard
