Aim

We are fundraising to create an inclusive Sports Hub in Fairford, linking with the WR22 3G Pitch that is going to be built in 2027.

Help us create a lasting community sports hub for Fairford

Something incredible is happening at Farmor’s School.

After less than two years of fundraising, planning and working alongside our community partners, construction of The Pitch – a new floodlit, World Rugby compliant 3G pitch – will begin in 2027.

The journey so far in less than two years:

✅ £1.5m funding package developed
✅ Funding secured from multiple partners
✅ Planning and development underway
✅ 3G pitch construction planned for 2027

This is more than a new playing surface. It is the first stage of creating a community sports hub that will provide opportunities for local people of all ages and abilities for generations to come.

The Pitch will transform sporting opportunities for Farmor’s students, providing a reliable, safe, all-weather facility for school teams and reducing the disruption caused by poor weather and unplayable grass pitches. It will also provide a much-needed facility for local grassroots clubs, including Fairford Youth Football Club and Fairford Rugby Football Club, enabling them to grow and offer more opportunities for children, young people and adults.

However, our vision does not stop with the 3G pitch.

The next stage of our journey is to redevelop Farmor’s Sports Hall and create improved changing facilities, community spaces and a wider range of opportunities for sport, health and wellbeing. Together, these developments will create a sustainable community sports hub at the heart of Fairford.

The Pitch and future sports hall development have been shaped through collaboration between Farmor’s School, local sports clubs, community organisations, sporting bodies and volunteers. Our partners include Fairford Youth Football Club, Fairford Rugby Football Club, Fairford Netball Club, Gloucestershire FA, the Rugby Football Union, The Football Foundation and local councils.

Our aim is simple: to create a place where everyone feels welcome.

A place where children can discover a love of sport.
A place where women and girls have more opportunities to participate.
A place where older residents can stay active through walking sports.
A place where people with disabilities can take part.
A place where local clubs can grow.
A place where the whole community can come together.

Farmor’s School has been part of the Fairford community since 1738. This project is about investing in the next generation and creating a legacy that will benefit local people for many years to come.

We are a school, a group of community organisations and a team of volunteers who believe passionately in the power of sport to improve physical health, mental wellbeing and community connection.

We have come a long way — but there is still more to do.

Your support will help us complete the next stage of this journey and ensure that this community sports hub reaches its full potential.

Together, we can create something that lasts.

What might this look like?

Could this be the Sports Hall?

Why are we crowdfunding?

The Pitch is becoming a reality thanks to the incredible support, commitment and generosity of our community, sporting partners and funding organisations. This project has always been about more than building a 3G pitch; it is about creating a lasting community sports hub that will support health, wellbeing and participation for generations to come. As we move into the next phase of development, including improvements to our sports hall and wider facilities, crowdfunding gives the community the opportunity to play a direct role in shaping the future of sport in Fairford. Every contribution will help us maximise the impact of this investment, creating even more opportunities for children, families, clubs and community groups to take part.

Your support will help us to:

  • complete the redevelopment of our community sports facilities;
  • improve changing and social spaces;
  • support affordable access to sport;
  • create opportunities beyond traditional team sport.

So please do have your say - how can we make this a great space for everyone?

The major investment of The Pitch is happening because the community came together; now we are inviting the community to help us make it exceptional

By funding this project, you’re helping to bring inclusive, year-round sports opportunities to Fairford, creating a vibrant community hub that will benefit generations to come. Join us in making it happen!

How we’ll spend the money raised

Funds raised through this campaign will be invested directly into maximising the community benefit of The Pitch project. Donations will support the development of the wider sports hub, including improvements to facilities, equipment, community activity programmes and creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport. Every contribution will help us ensure that this significant investment delivers the greatest possible benefit for our students, local clubs and the wider Fairford community.
