We're still collecting donations
On the 29th January 2024 we'd raised £5,055 with 95 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Help us to fund the final stage of our space refurb and to kickstart our core curatorial programme!

On the 29th January 2024 we'd raised £5,055 with 95 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
PINK is a curatorial project committed to interdisciplinary research, practice, and collaborative exchange. Since our launch in May 2021, we've hosted a diverse range of exhibitions, events, residencies, and creative collaborations, exploring the intersection of 'doing' and 'thinking' together with artists. Our focus is on building lasting relationships that encourage creative risk-taking, fostering a dynamic platform for experimental practices in collaboration with artists, thinkers, writers, and researchers.
For the past two years, PINK has been hosted by 86 Princess Street in Manchester, activating their historical space with diverse artistic projects. Over the last 12-months, PINK has been in an extended research period, as Director Katy Morrison worked to think through the different projects hosted and evaluate what the next stage of PINK would look like, deciding that a space to call our own was what was needed.
In April 2023, we found a space in Stockport at the iconic Hilton House building, a disused 1970s office block that spoke to our vision. With the first phase of renovation of this space complete, the groundwork is laid for PINK's next steps. The walls hold the echoes of hard work, collaboration, and a shared vision for a vibrant artistic community. But, of course, there's still more to do!
We went from this:
...to this:
But with sheer hard work and determination got it to look like this:
Now, we're gearing up for the second phase of refurbishment. This involves bringing our space to life – refurbishing the ceiling, constructing walls to shape a dedicated gallery space, collaborating with artists to craft modular gallery furniture, and establishing a dedicated community workshop space - where we plan to roll out our carefully designed artist development initiatives. Your support is crucial in making these plans a reality, helping us create a space where artistic ambition, innovation and community engagement can flourish.
Until now, PINK has been self-funding its journey, but we've reached a point where we need your support to propel us forward. We're seeking a minimum of £10,000 to cover essential refurbishment costs and to kickstart our core curatorial programme.
Your contribution will play a direct role in advancing PINK's gallery infrastructure, enabling us to acquire materials for constructing walls and modular furniture, as well as paying our technician and designer who are pivotal in laying the groundwork for our promising future. Importantly, it will also support our core curatorial programme, providing artists with the time, space, and financial resources needed to realise their most ambitious work to date.
With your help, we will be able to:
But wait, we’ve decided to do Crowdfunders a little differently…
What sets PINK apart is our unwavering artist-centric ethos. Guided by a deliberately unhurried approach, PINK works in close collaboration with artists over extended periods of time. Recognising that this approach demands extended and sustained effort from artists, we want to be able to provide support that matches, ensuring they are equipped with the right resources throughout their time with us.
To achieve this, we will be directing 70% of all artwork sales back to our artists to ensure that they have the resources to produce their most ambitious work to date.
It’s a ‘help us, to help artists’ kind of thing!
In the coming year, we're gearing up for exciting collaborations with several artists who are set to embark on a 3-4 month residency at PINK. Throughout this period, our aim is to provide unwavering support and empowerment, guiding each artist to develop their most ambitious solo works to date. Each artist will intricately explore unique facets of their personal lived experiences, embodying PINK's commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and sparking meaningful dialogues on crucial social themes. Furthermore, each project will boast a bespoke public programme, ramping up involvement with diverse arts and social organisations in Greater Manchester to significantly amplify impact, engagement, and outreach.
Our curatorial programme holds significance not only for artists but also for Stockport. Similar to many regional areas, Stockport lacks a centralised venue for contemporary visual art. With the establishment of PINK, we are filling this void and creating a platform for emerging and established artists to connect with a new region and audience. Beyond individual artists, our project aims to make a profound impact on the entire community by inspiring dialogue, understanding, and appreciation for diverse artistic expressions.
