Pete Lawrence - Songs of Hope and Connection album

I hope you're enjoying the warm weather. We're just getting ready to pack for our Campout up the road in the foothills of the Black Mountains, Herefordshire.

 I've been busy designing this brand new website for the event (with help in terms of the advanced coding from my pal Claude;)  We've just added the full four day programme and I'm delighted that Jodie Miller has taken up the invitation to come and lead a community choir session on Saturday afternoon singing some of the songs from the 'This Is The Fire' album. There's lots of other stuff going on over the four beautiful days of connection, creativity, music, movement, expression, healing and celebration. The album production has been going really and once again, I take several of my various hats off to my co-producer Oskar Vizan for his diligence, attention to detail, incredible musical ear and patience. We have just about finished all the recording now and are working on the mixes, on schedule to finish around the beginning of September. We will then be moving onto mastering the album and spending the autumn preparing a game plan for release early next year.

In early September, we're coming together again to sing some songs. This time, at the farm where I live when I am in the UK, Trealy Farm, near Monmouth, again on the Welsh borders. Last year's SING OUT was a fun, uplifting gathering and we expect this year's to be too. Several of my songs will again be sung, this time led by community choir icon Helen Yeomans. It's a great back-to-nature setting for the weekend - a 138 acre organic mixed farm on a hillside looking out towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. It’s a beautiful, wild and secluded space. Amongst the fields of sheep and the small herd of horses, are woodlands and wilderness and magical places: Trealy Wood, Women’s Oak, the coppice, meadow, secret garden, and ancient yew, hillside walks and a stone circle.
