Warrington Pride is back and bigger than ever, ready to paint the town rainbow and celebrate diversity and inclusion in our community. Warrington Pride will be a day filled with excitement, entertainment and empowerment as we come together to honour love and acceptance for all.
As part of this beautiful celebration, we are partnering with Peace & Mind UK, a non profit organisation created by Ether Ghey in memory of her daughter Brianna, who tragically lost her life in a senseless act of violence in February 2023.
Peace & Mind's overarching goal is to plant seeds of resilience, empathy and unity within our societies. Through education and community, they hope to empower people and break down societal barriers - creating a happier and more peaceful society.
Peace & Mind UK hopes to achieve this through current nationwide campaigns, alongside community-based activities for young people and families.
Launched on September 15th 2023, the Peace in Mind Campaign aims to get mindfulness training – delivered by Mindfulness in Schools Project – in all schools, launching in Brianna’s hometown of Warrington, with the hope of spreading out across England. Mindfulness can improve mental health and provide people with tools which build mental resilience, empathy, and compassion.
We want you to help us support this incredible initiative so this project can be delivered in every school across the UK.
Building on the success of last year’s event, Warrington Pride takes place on Saturday 8th June as part of Pride Month, with the support of popular shopping destination Golden Square, Warrington Borough Council, Warrington BID, Warrington Market, Culture Warrington, Warrington Youth Zone, University of Chester, LiveWire, HC Promotions and United Utilities.
Warrington Pride 2024 will also feature live music, performances, workshops and a parade through the streets of the town. The event will also host a variety of vendors and community organisations providing resources and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies.
