Build a social distance classroom and create more recipe cards.
How it started and why I love it!
Due to COVID 19, all of my classes have been cancelled until further advice. My lovely hotels and coffee shops that I supply are all closed too. I intended to build a classroom but now it's more important than ever to get this project completed so I can show you how to cook.
I started making jam in 2011 as my sister loved my jam and after she died of cancer, I headed into the hedgerows, I picked all sorts of wild berries and made jam just as my mum showed me.
I have had amazing commitment and support from all of my customers and I have no idea when they will re-open and be able to serve my jam. This is heartbreaking to watch and has a devastating effect on my business. With the hotels and restaurants being closed, my business is having to adapt to the changes quickly, therefore, I've set up this crowd funder so you can buy jam or a voucher to attend one of my cooking lessons in the near future, as it will help me survive lockdown. The local enterprise in the Solent area is helping by match funding the Money raised on here £ for £ so when you buy jam or a voucher, you are giving me a lifeline.
The vouchers will be as flexible as possible giving you over 18 months from date of purchase.
It's not just me!
I buy local and know all my suppliers: from Sandy and his family at New Forest Fruit Company who grow the best strawberries ever, to Jose & Maria at Ava Maria farm in Seville, I employ staff to help out and use local services and British produce.
Match funded
Our Local Enterprise Partnership is offering to match fund with a grant the money raised by this appeal. So for every £, you spend on a donation or pledge, we will receive another £ of public funds.
I have no idea when the hotels will reopen, however, if you can buy a voucher for one of my classes you can be one of the first to use my social distance classroom. Thank you.
