Hi everyone 👋
If you’ve walked past the Lord Morpeth recently, you might have noticed our doors are temporarily shut. Sadly, we’ve suffered some pretty severe water damage from a recent flood, forcing us to close while we dry out and rebuild.
While we are keeping a clear head and working hard behind the scenes to get everything sorted, a pub closure is incredibly tough on the people who make this place a home: our amazing staff. They have suddenly lost their daily routines, their busy shifts, and the weekly connection they love sharing with all of you.
We aren't down for long, though. We are already dreaming of the day we throw open the doors and welcome you back, and we want to give you a way to look forward to it with us.
Naturally, you might be asking: “What about insurance? Aren't they covering this?”
The good news is: yes, our insurance is fully covering the physical repairs to the pub.
However, insurance claims take time, and they don't cover the immediate loss of hours for our team while the physical building is put back together. This Crowdfunder is a direct safety net for our staff.
Instead of asking for standard donations, we wanted to make this a mutual promise: you buy your future drinks and pizzas now, and we’ll have them hot, cold, and ready for you the moment we reopen. Every single penny from these rewards goes directly to keeping our staff secure and supported during the closure.
