Pay It Forward

Hi everyone, we hope you are all keeping well.

Unsurprisingly, the global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain time for us here at The Caledon Guest House, and for thousands of small businesses around the country. We know we have a really challenging time ahead, but we are determined to survive and we are looking for your help! 

A bit about us...

Mark and I took over The Caledon in 2004, and for nearly 16 years we have poured all our love and energy into this little business of ours. We have met sooo many lovely people from all over the world and would be heartbroken if we couldn't continue to do what we love and welcome you to our home. 

In supporting The Caledon, you are supporting our little family of four, our two fabulous housekeepers and many local food producers and suppliers who we rely on for all our amazing breakfast ingredients.

How you can help...

If you would like to donate any amount to us big or small it would be hugely appreciated. 

If you live locally you can purchase a Famous Caledon Breakfast for 2 Voucher for £20 - come and relax and enjoy breakfast in our sunny dining room, to be arranged once we can safely reopen.

Or you can purchase a Pay it Forward Accommodation Voucher for £100 (RRP up to £136) - 1 nights stay for 2 people, including an amazing locally sourced breakfast and a complimentary chilled bottle of prosecco on arrival. A lovely gift idea or spoil yourselves and enjoy a staycation.

Match funding from Solent LEP

The amazing people at Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (https://solentlep.org.uk/) will consider us for a grant of an additional 50% funding for every pound we can raise. So if we can raise £4k and are successful we would receive another £2k grant. 

This money will help us to protect the jobs of our brilliant team and invest in the future of this business allowing us to provide training, and to adapt to the new ‘normal’ when we are allowed to reopen. 

What we have been up to...

Since lockdown began we have kept ourselves busy looking after NHS staff and keyworkers here at The Caledon making sure they are well fed and have a safe and comfortable home from home to return to after a long days work. 

New socially distanced check in and cleaning procedures are now firmly in place; Wight Wash hand rub in public areas, your choice of breakfast in our carefully spaced out dining room, or delivered on a tray to your room. We've also been making yummy home cooked meals to buy while the restaurants are closed.

Andrea has also been sewing much needed scrubs for our local hospice, organising a group of ladies, including our housekeeper Rose, to make over 130 sets for all the wonderful nurses who work so hard caring for others. It has been a great project pulling together the talents and kindness of our fabulous local community.

...oh and not to mention home schooling! ;-)
